A safe place for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. 24-hour crisis hotline, transportation, meals and emergency fund, legal and personal advocacy; offers licensed peer and group support counseling (with childcare provided), safety planning, transportation, food, and emergency shelter. Everything is held confidential. Provides counseling and other non-resident service for any victim of family / dating violence, sexual assault and/or stalking.

 Family Violence Prevention Services/Battered Women and Children's Shelter

Family Violence Prevention Services, Inc. (FVPS) offers a complete array of shelter, transitional housing, counseling, children’s, and legal services to help individuals and families recover from the pain and long-term effects of domestic violence. 24-hour, 365 day, hotline to provide immediate assistance to victims of family violence. Crisis calls include an assessment of critical needs, crisis intervention, education, information and referrals. * Comprehensive Case Management. * Children’s Program: BWCS Children’s Program offers an array of activities, including recreational and social activities, counseling and discussions about family violence. * Individual Counseling: Adults and children are provided with individual counseling by professionals with extensive training in family violence services. * Emergency Food and Clothing. * Legal Advocacy and Referral: legal advocacy onsite; staff attorneys provide legal services at the shelter related to divorce, custody, and other family law matters at no cost to the client. * Primary Medical and Dental Care: Residents and their children are provided with primary medical and dental care through a full service clinic located on BWCS premises.
