Offers job placement, job training, and support services for homeless veterans. Assists chronically homeless individuals in preparing disability claims to submit to Social Security Administration.

CJC helps adults meet their educational and vocational goals as they move from dependency on others to God's sufficiency by learning job and life skills. CJC uses the Jobs for Life curriculum in addition to their own material. The Job and Life Skills Training Programs are tailored for each person’s needs.

A ministry of WMU (Woman's Missionary Union). A 501 (c)(3) Public Charity. Offers a 12-week, full-time, job and life skills training program. Classes conducted in Bible Study, personal finance, computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, QuickBooks), resume preparation, interviewing skills, and business etiquette. A mentor is provided for each student. All classes are conducted by trained volunteers. Also provides monthly CWJC alumni training program.

* Trained volunteers committed to providing a hand up to interns in need through education and spiritual development. * Mentoring, personal skills like money management, resume prep, interviewing skills, business etiquette, computer training, Bible study, self-esteem, jobs for life, healthy relationships. * Offers two 12-week sessions each year serving 12 women each session. City of San Antonio Department of Human Services, Center for Working Families: supportive services, case management and employment referral assistance to families of San Antonio and Bexar County. Family Assistance Center’s main focus is to provide low income families and individuals with the support they need to move toward better jobs and financial self-sufficiency. Through combined federal (Community Services Block Grant), utility (CPS Energy and SAWS), and general fund dollars, the Department of Human Services’ Family Assistance Centers provides help to families in San Antonio and Bexar County that are seeking to meet basic needs, such as utilities and rent, and those aiming for better employment. SERVICES PROVIDED: * Utility Assistance: Project Agua, Plumbers to People, Project REAP, Project WARM (UTILITY ASSISTANCE) * Employment: Job referrals/placement, Job training * Financial Services: Credit report assistance, Open IDA, Assistance to open savings acct. * Other: Volunteer Income Tax assistance (VITA), Rent assistance to families who have received a final eviction notice, Food Stamp Assistance (SNAP) Applicants must meet the priority categories. Funding from: combined federal (Community Services Block Grant), the Annie E. Casey Foundation, utility (CPS Energy and SAWS), and general fund dollars. * Provides referrals to other community services.

Department of Human Services’ Family Assistance Centers works with individuals and families and in the San Antonio/ Bexar County community. The Training for Job Success program is designed to support individuals as they prepare for better employment that leads families to self-sufficiency. * Job readiness activities such as assistance with résumé writing, interviewing skills and job leads * Scholarship opportunities for Alamo Colleges * Demand Occupations Training Programs * Textbooks, supplies and uniforms required for * * One-on-One career coaching, case management services and counseling services * Assistance with utilities and rent * Connection to other community resources ** Eligible participants must meet income criteria upon enrollment into the program.

Work with low income seniors 55 years of age and older to increase skills to help obtain employment. Seniors train 20 hours a week at minimum wage. Job training, counseling, and community service assignments at non-profit agencies in their communities, prior to transitioning into the workforce. Participants are placed at eligible host agencies for which they are paid minimum wage 20 hours per week.

The Now2Work program is a Texas based service provider of person-centered rehabilitation programs and vocational projects that make a difference and impact the lives of underserved populations in Texas communities. Provides vocational and independent living rehabilitation programs that increase the independence of individuals who are blind or visually impaired, as well as those with other disabilities. The Center’s experienced staff has the capacity to provide a variety of training services to meet the needs of each individual, from basic life skills to advanced technical skills that will yield high level employment and full independence. Program services are provided to participants in a one-on-one or group setting and are coordinated based on the needs and interests of each individual. Assists: Individuals presently employed that require new skills and/or assistive technology to overcome recently developed visual impairments in order to remain actively employed; College students whose visual impairment necessitates the evaluation and training of assistive technology to succeed in the classroom; Persons with a visual impairment or other disability that are seeking employment opportunities; Seniors who wish to maintain their independence and activity levels.
