 Atascosa County Indigent Health Care Program

Provides health care for Atascosa County citizens who meet program requirements (place of residence, income, resources). Services provided include physician visits, hospital inpatient and outpatient services, up to 3 prescription medications per month, and may include payment of existing medical claims. This program is also available to undocumented persons who meet eligibility requirements. Indigent Health Care is, by law, the payer of last resort, and all other possibilities will be explored first (when medically appropriate to do so). Households with minor children need to be screened first for Medicaid eligibility.

 Bandera County Indigent Health Care Program

CIHCP (County Indigent Health Care Program) provides medically necessary health care benefits to individuals who meet the income, resource, residency and household criteria; and who are ineligible for other state or federal assistance programs. This is not an insurance program. CIHCP pays for basic, medically necessary health care services such as: Physician services Annual physical exams Immunizations Medical screening Laboratory and X-Ray services (ordered by physician) Family planning services Skilled Nursing facility (ordered by physician) Prescriptions (max 3 per month; ordered by physician; no over-the-counter) Rural health clinic services Inpatient and Outpatient hospital services Also: Advanced Practice Nurse services Ambulatory Surgical Center services Diabetic Medical supplies and services Physician Medical supplies and services Income Requirements: Generally a person with earned income could earn up to $389 per month and still meet the income limit of 21% of the Federal Poverty Income Level (FPL) for a household of one. Those with unearned income have a different calculation applied.

 Catholic Charities- Archdiocese of San Antonio- Financial Assistance

One-time emergency financial assistance to prevent utility disconnection, financial coaching, and budget assessment for income-eligible individuals and families. Case management staff provides a thorough intake and assessment of the family’s financial state in order to provide the best possible plan to help them move toward financial stability and self-sufficiency. Also utilize the Clothes Closet and Food Pantry to assist clients with obtaining their basic needs at no cost, reducing the client’s cost of living expenses. Referrals for additional Catholic Charities programs, employment, community resources and government assistance will also be provided to those in need. If eligible for financial assistance through this program, Catholic Charities will remit payment directly to the vendor.

Good Days offers patients and families financial help, emotional support, and guidance to the best available information and support for each specific disease state. Since 2003, Good Days has provided more than 800,000 grants and helped more than 500,000 people with access to healthcare resources. The CareLink Program is open to San Antonio/Bexar County residents who do not have private or public health insurance. Based on several factors, like the number of people in your family and your total income, you may qualify to be a member of CareLink. Once enrolled, CareLink will establish a monthly payment plan based on total household income and family size. You will be assigned your own primary care physician and have access to quality healthcare at University Health System.
