 International Essential Tremor Foundation

The International Essential Tremor Foundation (IETF) was created to provide information, services and support to individuals and families affected by essential tremor (ET). The organization encourages and promotes research in an effort to determine the causes, treatment and ultimately the cure for ET. The IETF is the only worldwide organization dedicated to meeting the needs of those whose daily lives are challenged by ET. In San Antonio, support groups are held five times a year on the third Saturdays of Jan., March, May, Sept. and Nov. from 10:00 to 12:00 at the Warm Springs Rehabilitation Center. TeleCare provides telephone medical advice to Veterans of South Texas Veterans Health Care System. Our service has bilingual capability and provides prompt, reliable and courteous answers to patients‘ questions. Call a TeleCare nurse if you have symptoms, questions, or need advice about any health problem. If your symptoms are not serious, you may not need an appointment. The TeleCare nurse will tell you how to treat the problem at home. Call the TeleCare nurse at the first signs of a problem. Early treatment is a key factor in dealing with many health problems.

 After Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Offer signature breast cancer support service: One-to-One mentoring by trained volunteers who have already personally experienced breast cancer. Also offer a Breast Cancer Helpline and Resource List, and breast cancer outreach and education. ABCD provides One-to-One breast cancer support through its mentors- trained volunteers who are matched with people diagnosed with breast cancer. Matches are made on the basis of demographic and clinical information supplied by mentors and those we support – our participants. A mentor keeps in touch throughout the treatment process, providing information on local and national resources, and perhaps most important, breast cancer support from someone who’s “been there.'
