A national nonprofit voluntary health agency dedicated to finding a cure for Huntington Disease (HD). Provide vital support, information and educational services to improve the lives of those affected by HD; offer resources and guidance for families trough our national network of volunteer-based chapters and affiliates; promote and support research to find a cure.

The International Essential Tremor Foundation (IETF) was created to provide information, services and support to individuals and families affected by essential tremor (ET). The organization encourages and promotes research in an effort to determine the causes, treatment and ultimately the cure for ET. The IETF is the only worldwide organization dedicated to meeting the needs of those whose daily lives are challenged by ET. In San Antonio, support groups are held five times a year on the third Saturdays of Jan., March, May, Sept. and Nov. from 10:00 to 12:00 at the Warm Springs Rehabilitation Center. JAN provides free consulting services for individuals with physical or intellectual limitations that affect employment. Services include one-on-one consultation about job accommodation ideas, requesting and negotiating accommodations, and rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and related laws. Although JAN does not help individuals find employment, JAN does provide information for job seekers.

Medicare.gov provides official benefit information regarding the various programs that constitute Medicare as well as tools to help Medicare beneficiaries. Medicare.gov tools cover issues such as nursing home comparisons as well as evaluation and enrollment in Part C health plans and Part D prescription drug plans.

Specific features in My HealtheVet are available to you based on your account type. All users who have a Basic account are able to view their self-entered information. Among the newest features available to Veterans with a Premium Account include VA Notes. These are clinical notes that your health care team records during your appointments or hospital stays. 1) National Hispanic Family Health Helpline: Helps Hispanic families get basic health information to help them prevent and manage chronic conditions. Bilingual information specialists refer callers to one of more than 16,000 local health providers, including community and migrant health centers. Bilingual fact sheets are currently available for a wide variety of topics including: asthma, cancer screening, cardiovascular disease, child and adult immunizations, diabetes, domestic violence and HIV/AIDS. 2) 2016: Assisting with ACA (Affordable Care Act) Navigation

The National Cancer Institute is the government's principal agency for cancer research and training. Conducts and supports research, training, health information dissemination, and other programs with respect to the cause, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cancer, rehabilitation from cancer, and the continuing care of cancer patients and the families of cancer patients.

The National Health Information Center (NHIC) is a health information referral service. NHIC links people to organizations that provide reliable health information. NHIC was established in 1979 by the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP), Office of Public Health and Science, Office of the Secretary, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. NHIC also provides key support for the healthfinder.gov Web site, your gateway to reliable consumer health information.

The National Hemophilia Foundation is dedicated to finding better treatments and cures for bleeding and clotting disorders and to preventing the complications of these disorders through education, advocacy and research. The HANDI Information Resource Center provides answers to consumers questions, provides quality educational publications, and makes referrals to additional sources of assistance.

SeniorAdvice.com is a Texas-based support portal for seniors and their caregivers. We publish information on senior health and wellness with a focus on Alzheimer's and dementia care. We also run one of the largest online directory for senior services, including respite care, adult day services, in-home care, and assisted living.

National Resource Center on Spina Bifida (NRC) provides high quality, confidential information and referral services.

TeleCare provides telephone medical advice to Veterans of South Texas Veterans Health Care System. Our service has bilingual capability and provides prompt, reliable and courteous answers to patients‘ questions. Call a TeleCare nurse if you have symptoms, questions, or need advice about any health problem. If your symptoms are not serious, you may not need an appointment. The TeleCare nurse will tell you how to treat the problem at home. Call the TeleCare nurse at the first signs of a problem. Early treatment is a key factor in dealing with many health problems.

Resource for cancer information.

Offer signature breast cancer support service: One-to-One mentoring by trained volunteers who have already personally experienced breast cancer. Also offer a Breast Cancer Helpline and Resource List, and breast cancer outreach and education. ABCD provides One-to-One breast cancer support through its mentors- trained volunteers who are matched with people diagnosed with breast cancer. Matches are made on the basis of demographic and clinical information supplied by mentors and those we support – our participants. A mentor keeps in touch throughout the treatment process, providing information on local and national resources, and perhaps most important, breast cancer support from someone who’s “been there.'
