Clinical treatment for qualifying patients who have chronic illnesses such as hypertension, poor cholesterol, diabetes, allergies, and other common health problems. This includes testing, plan of action, and proper medication for the chronic illnesses. Also treat non-emergency conditions such as upper respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, minor wounds (not work or auto accident related),and administer some immunizations. Patients also learn basic healthcare practices through a RiskBusters program.

 Bandera County Indigent Health Care Program

CIHCP (County Indigent Health Care Program) provides medically necessary health care benefits to individuals who meet the income, resource, residency and household criteria; and who are ineligible for other state or federal assistance programs. This is not an insurance program. CIHCP pays for basic, medically necessary health care services such as: Physician services Annual physical exams Immunizations Medical screening Laboratory and X-Ray services (ordered by physician) Family planning services Skilled Nursing facility (ordered by physician) Prescriptions (max 3 per month; ordered by physician; no over-the-counter) Rural health clinic services Inpatient and Outpatient hospital services Also: Advanced Practice Nurse services Ambulatory Surgical Center services Diabetic Medical supplies and services Physician Medical supplies and services Income Requirements: Generally a person with earned income could earn up to $389 per month and still meet the income limit of 21% of the Federal Poverty Income Level (FPL) for a household of one. Those with unearned income have a different calculation applied.

The Diabetes Treatment Center offers outpatient medical evaluation and treatment of diabetes and endocrine disorders by board-certified endocrinologists. On-site ophthalmology, podiatry, obstetrical and childrens endocrinology services are offered. Nurse case mangers serve as the patient’s link to TDI and assist in ensuring that all relevant services are provided to the patient and family. Individual, group and family counseling is provided by licensed maste's level social workers. State-of-the art equipment includes four hyperbaric chambers with a wound care clinic to a 28-station renal dialysis center. Diagnostic and support services for the various disciplines include laboratories, EKG, X-ray rooms, pharmacy and a rehabilitation area. Support groups held monthly: English speaking group on second Tues. and Spanish speaking group on third Thurday from 9am-11am.
