Offer emergency assistance with rent, utility, counseling, domestic violence issues, etc. Limited financial assistance for emergency dental care. Other services include: * Help a Senior (HAS): Volunteers provide one on one "friendly support to a senior living alone with no family to look out for them. * Navigator: a volunteer who assists in managing personal and financial paperwork and correspondence. * Yard Care and Handy Man Services: for elderly and disabled individuals. * Angel Tree and Christmas Families: community members adopt an angel representing a lonely senior or disabled home-bound adult, providing gifts and Christmas dinner. * School Supplies: for children of working poor families.* Warm Winter/Cool Summer: coasts, blankets, heaters and fans for those in need.

1) After school program for children ages 5-13 years old. Mon-Fri 3-6 pm. Kid’s Café, in conjunction with the San Antonio Food Bank to provide a hot meal/snack when the kids get in from school. 2) Family programs, such as emergency food assistance, GED/ESL classes, free tax preparation, & financial mentoring. 3). Senior Nutrition Center (see also separate agency listing, "Presa Senior Center"): Social activities, & education. For those seniors that live within 3 mi. radius of the center, transportation provided. Notary public services are also available for senior adults and other clients at no cost at the center.

The VITA Program offers free tax help to low-to moderate-income people who cannot prepare their own tax returns. Certified volunteers sponsored by various organizations receive training to help prepare basic tax returns. VITA sites are generally located at community & neighborhood centers, libraries, schools, shopping malls, & other convenient locations. Most locations also offer free electronic filing.
