The Advanced Living Technology (ALT) Program, coordinated through Social Work Service, is designed to help Veterans who need some structure in their lives, but who have limited income. Veterans live in a furnished apartment setting and pay $525.00 per month for their rent, utilities, and weekly housekeeping and laundry services. The Veterans do not receive supervised care, but case management services are provided by a VA Social Worker.

Access to the National Resource Directory, which enables you to find links to resource based on subjects that interest you. Levels of Access: To gain access to most eBenefits resources and services, you need an account. We offer the following two types of account, and both of them are free: Basic account that gives limited access to various features. A Premium account that gives unlimited access. To register for your free account, you need a DS Logon.

Assists veterans & their survivors to obtain earned benefits from the Dept. of Veterans Affairs. Assists in completing the correct forms/applications & collecting the appropriate documentation to support a claim for federal benefits through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). If VA denies benefits, VSO staff will assist clients compose the necessary statements & forms in filing an appeal. Provides comprehensive knowledge of federal & state laws & regulations applying to veterans & their dependents in obtaining all benefits to which they are entitled by law. Provides advisory service on benefits involved by reviewing a veteran’s or surviving family member’s situation; acts as an advocate of the veteran or his family in dealing with agencies, organizations & institutions; consults with Texas Veterans Commission, VA Medical & Regional Office Personnel in development of medical treatment claims. Interviews veterans & their dependents on obtaining benefits, rights & entitlements. Develops plans for conduction briefings, filing claims, correction and upgrading of discharges, assist with enrollment in VA Healthcare.
